Hi. I'm Alyssa.  I want to be your friend.  Unless you're not cool.  I only hang with the cool people.  But this is the internet, you guys, and you can pretend to be cool even if you're not.  That's how the internet works.

  1. You had stated in an earlier post that you had a Silhoutte cutting machine. I was wondering if you had used it to cut fabric. I have looked at both the Silhoutte and the accuquilt fabric cutter, but if the Silhoutte does fabric and other things that may be a better option for me. I know that the accuquilt can cut multiple layers of fabric at once, but have not found a good review for the Silhoutte that states if it can do this.
Thanks for any input that you could give me on the Silhoutte.

    1. I can't sing the praises of the Silhouette enough! It's so fantastic. I personally have not cut fabric (yet). I use mine mostly for vinyl and paper. But I know lots of people use it for fabric regularly and love it.

Check out the Silhouette blog...here's a link directly to their posts with the "fabric" label, but you should definitely click around and see what it can do. http://blog.silhouetteamerica.com/search/label/fabric

You can also join the Facebook group All Things Silhouette at http://www.facebook.com/groups/allthingsSILHOUETTE/. It's a closed group so you have to request access but it's easy enough to do and there are so many great, helpful people there to answer all your questions.

I know nothing about the Accuquilt so can't offer you any comparison, but I adore my Silhouette. It does EVERYTHING.

  3. Thank you so much for posting about how to wean a breastfeeding toddler. It is working like a charm! My 25 month old daughter and I have always loved breastfeeding, but I'm going on antibiotics that aren't great for her and it's time to call it a day for my boobs anyway! I just wanted to say thank you, because I can't stand to make her cry, and like you said, it's been such a positive experience I wanted it to end that way as well, and so far it is!!!
